Our day began in Edinburgh, where Stewart met me in a pristine Land Rover well-stocked with Orvis rods, waders, and tackle. Driving through gorgeous Scottish countryside in the heart of rugged mountains and winding rivers, I quickly learned that Stewart's sense of humor would be as entertaining as the fishing. We shared a hot dram of scotch before wading into a river without another person in sight. Lunch was a delicious organic chicken stew, and it was the perfect antidote to the cold Scottish rain. Stewart also provided expert knowledge of the river we fished. Hooking into a salmon in Scotland remains one of the most incredible and surreal memories of my life. In addition to the splendor of Scotland, one of the most incredible aspects of fishing with Stewart is the genuine passion he brings to his work. His professionalism is unparalleled, and the enthusiasm in every facet of his guiding made for an unforgettable day with a great friend. Even as an experienced angler, I learned much from Stewart at a recent pike fishing trip. Last week I had the pleasure to spend half a day fishing with stewart. What a great day we had. Even as a novice fisherman that I am we managed to catch a few beauties.
